Energy consumption optimisation

Energy consumption optimisation with SVE Optimize: automatic control of appliances, storage and charging according to energy prices and solar output. Less power bought from the grid, more of your own.

Your energy works when it is cheapest

Energy optimisation (SVE Optimize) is automatic control of appliances, storage and the charger so that they run when power is cheapest or comes from your panels. The system combines PV output data, hourly market prices (RCE), the weather forecast and your own habits, so you buy noticeably less expensive energy from the grid. It controls the battery, the car charger, the heat pump and the water heater in the background, with no daily clicking. We start with a consumption audit and configuration on your existing installation, without replacing it, and then tune the rules against real data from the first weeks.

Why it is worth it

Cheap power instead of expensive

The system starts energy-hungry equipment in the hours with the lowest price. Laundry, charging and water heating happen when the tariff is favourable.

Intelligent battery control

The battery charges from the panels or on cheap grid energy and discharges during peak hours. Self-consumption rises with no manual supervision.

Car charging from surplus

The charger starts when the panels produce a surplus or when power is cheapest. The car runs mostly on your own energy, not on expensive grid supply.

Response to hourly prices

SVE Optimize follows the market price of energy (RCE) and dynamic tariffs, matching how the installation runs to the actual rates for that day.

Works without your involvement

The rules are set once and then the system runs on its own. You can inspect and change everything in the app, but you do not have to watch the clock.

No replacement of the installation

We deploy optimisation on the equipment you already have. We add controllers and configuration, not a new PV system or battery from scratch.

Advantages and limits

Pros
  • Reacts faster than a person

The system recalculates hourly prices and solar output every few minutes. You never miss the cheap hours or a surplus from the roof.

  • Runs around the clock, including when you are away

Optimisation works while you are at work, on holiday or asleep. It does not need daily setting.

  • Handles several variables at once

It weighs price, weather, battery state and your habits simultaneously, which is hard to track by hand.

  • Scales to further devices

Add a heat pump or a second charger and the rules cover them without rebuilding everything.

Cons
  • It needs controllable equipment

Some older inverters and appliances have no remote control. Occasionally a relay or controller has to be added.

  • There is an upfront cost

Configuration and controllers are an initial expense. It returns through lower bills, but it is not free.

  • The effect depends on your profile

The largest savings go to households with storage, a heat pump or an electric car. With PV alone the potential is smaller.

The process

Consumption and equipment audit

We analyse your invoices, load profile and existing devices: inverter, battery, heat pump, charger. We check what can be controlled and where the largest saving potential sits.

Design of the optimisation rules

We set the scenarios: which loads run, in which hours and at which prices. We simulate the effect on your own data before changing anything in the installation.

SVE Optimize configuration

We connect the inverter, battery and loads to the control system, feed in hourly price data (RCE) and the generation forecast, and switch the automatic rules on.

Tuning after the first weeks

Once running, we collect real data and correct the rules to raise self-consumption and cut grid purchases. Optimisation is a process, not a one-off setting.

What does optimisation cost?

Audit and potential analysis consultation before implementation PLN 0
SVE Optimize configuration (PV + storage) rules and RCE price feed from PLN 1,200
Control of one load (heat pump, water heater, charger) controller and integration from PLN 600 / device
Tuning and continuous installation care monitoring and rule correction from PLN 49 / month

Indicative gross prices in Polish złoty. Scope depends on how many devices we control and whether the equipment supports remote control. We give an exact quote after the free audit.

Example: a home with PV, storage and a heat pump

SVE Optimize configuration
from PLN 1,200
Control of the heat pump and the charger
from PLN 1,200
Total from PLN 2,400 to implement; homes with storage, a heat pump or an electric car gain most

Your questions answered

What is automatic control of energy consumption?
It is a system that decides on its own when to run energy-hungry equipment. Instead of remembering the cheap hours, you hand that to software. SVE Optimize starts the battery, the charger or the heat pump when power is cheapest or when the panels are producing, and lowers bills that way.
Do I need solar and a battery for this to work?
Not strictly, but optimisation gives most when there is something to shift. With PV alone the system raises self-consumption. With storage you add charging on cheap energy and discharging at peak. With a heat pump or an electric car the saving potential is largest.
How does SVE Optimize work day to day?
Every few minutes the system checks hourly energy prices (RCE), the solar generation forecast and the battery state, then controls the loads according to the agreed rules. It runs in the background. You see everything in the app and can change a setting or switch the automation off at any moment.
How much can optimisation save?
It depends on the load profile and the equipment, which is why we do not give one figure for everyone. The effect comes from self-consumption: energy used on site is worth the full electricity price, while exported energy is worth much less. Households with storage, a heat pump and a charger gain most, because they have the most consumption to shift into cheap hours.
What does implementing SVE Optimize cost?
Configuration for a PV installation with storage starts at PLN 1,200, and control of a single load (heat pump, water heater, charger) at PLN 600 per device. A typical home with PV, storage and a heat pump comes to around PLN 2,400 to implement. The audit and potential analysis are free, and we give the exact quote after them.
Does the installation or the inverter have to be replaced?
Usually not. We deploy optimisation on the equipment you already have. We check whether the inverter, battery and loads support remote control. Where they do not, we add a controller or a relay instead of replacing the whole installation.
What are hourly prices and dynamic tariffs?
Under hourly settlement the energy price changes through the day and follows the market price of energy (RCE). It can be cheap at night or on a sunny midday, and expensive at peak. SVE Optimize follows those rates and shifts consumption into the cheapest hours, which also makes better use of net-billing.
Does the system control a heat pump and a car charger?
Yes, if the devices support control. The heat pump can be run in cheap hours or on surplus from the panels, and the charger set so the car mostly runs on your own energy. Those are usually the two largest single sources of saving in a home.
Does Sun Valley Energy handle implementation and care?
Yes. We run the audit, the configuration and the later tuning of the rules. Under continuous installation care we look after it for the whole lifecycle: we monitor results and correct settings when your consumption or the tariffs change. We work with certified installers (UDT, SEP) and have done since 2021.
