Measure first, then save

Energy management combines measurement, analysis and automation so that every kilowatt-hour you produce or buy is used well. An energy management system (EMS) collects data from your meter, inverter, battery and appliances, shows it in a single application and points to where money is being lost. It then runs equipment when energy is cheapest or comes from your own panels. In a home this means higher self-consumption and lower bills. In a company it adds consumption reporting and the data behind ESG disclosure. We work in four levels: monitoring, analysis, full optimisation, and a separate bill audit for multi-site portfolios.

Why choose energy management?

Full visibility of consumption

You see in real time how much energy you generate, use and export. No more guessing from a quarterly invoice.

Higher self-consumption

Automation runs appliances and charges the battery while the panels are producing. You use more of your own power and buy less from the grid.

Lower bills

Shifting consumption into cheaper hours and removing waste reduces bills without giving up comfort. We size the effect on your own invoices.

Working with tariffs and market prices

The system reacts to dynamic tariffs and the Polish market price (RCE), set for each quarter-hour since 1 October 2025, buying when energy is cheap and drawing from the battery when it is not.

Reporting and ESG for companies

Ready reports on consumption, cost and CO₂ reduction support investment decisions and corporate ESG disclosure.

Integration and automation

We connect solar PV, storage, heat pumps, EV charging and smart home devices into one ecosystem that actually works together.

Monitoring alone or full optimisation?

Monitoring shows what is happening with your energy. Optimisation also acts on it. Here is what each level gives you.

Criterion Full optimisation (Optimize) Monitoring only (Detect)
View of consumption and generation Yes Yes
Automatic control Yes None
Response to energy prices Automatic Manual
Increase in self-consumption Highest Depends on habits
Implementation cost Higher Lower

Choose Full optimisation (Optimize) if:

  • You have solar PV with storage, or plan to extend it
  • You want the system to save automatically, without your involvement
  • Maximum self-consumption and independence matter to you

Choose Monitoring only (Detect) if:

  • You want to understand your consumption and losses first
  • Your starting budget is limited
  • You plan to add optimisation as a later step

How we implement energy management

From measurement to automation. We build the system in stages and fit each stage to what you actually need.

Energy audit

We analyse invoices, the consumption profile and the existing installation. We establish where energy is lost and how much can be recovered.

Measurement and monitoring

We install meters and sensors and start the monitoring application. Generation and consumption data arrive in real time.

Analysis and recommendations

From the data we set out specific actions: a tariff change, battery sizing, shifted consumption or automation.

Optimisation and control

We deploy the automation, connect the equipment and keep improving the settings to maximise self-consumption and savings.

What does energy management cost?

Scope and cost depend on the service level and on the number of devices and sites. We start with monitoring and extend the system as needed.

Monitoring (SVE Detect) measurement + application from PLN 1,500
Analysis and reports (SVE Analyze) audit + recommendations individual quote
Optimisation (SVE Optimize) automation + control individual quote
EMS for business (multi-site) platform + ESG individual quote
Energy bill audit (SVE Screen) fixed fee per site individual quote

Indicative prices in Polish złoty. For Sun Valley Energy customers, basic monitoring is often part of a PV or storage project. We quote the full scope after a free energy audit.

Why work with Sun Valley Energy

We work on a lifecycle care model: after commissioning we stay with you, monitor the installation and keep optimising how it consumes energy.

A proven platform

We work on professional energy management platforms, including DEXMA, used across homes and companies in Europe.

One coherent ecosystem

We connect solar PV, storage, heat pumps and EV charging so they cooperate instead of running as separate islands.

Recommendations, not just data

We do not leave you with charts. We explain what follows from them and propose specific actions that lower cost.

Continuous optimisation

We review settings and results regularly, so the system keeps up with changing energy prices and changing needs.

Questions about energy management

Answers to the questions we are asked most often about this service category.

What is energy management?
Energy management is the combination of measurement, analysis and automation that lets you use every kilowatt-hour you generate or buy. An energy management system (EMS) collects data from the meter, inverter and battery, shows the consumption curve in an application and responds to dynamic tariffs and market prices (RCE, set for each quarter-hour since 1 October 2025), running appliances when power is cheapest or comes from your own panels.
What is an energy management system (EMS)?
An EMS measures generation and consumption, analyses them and controls equipment automatically to reduce cost. In practice it gathers data from the meter, inverter and battery, presents it in one application, and switches loads on when energy is cheapest or comes from your own panels.
What does energy management cost?
Monitoring (SVE Detect) starts from PLN 1,500 for the measurement and the application, and for customers with a PV or storage installation basic monitoring is often part of the project. Analysis and reports (SVE Analyze), optimisation with control (SVE Optimize), the multi-site EMS platform and the bill audit are quoted individually after a free energy audit, because cost depends on the number of devices and sites.
Does energy management make sense without solar PV?
Yes. Even without your own generation, an EMS shows where and when you consume most, lets you shift load into cheaper hours and removes waste. The gain is larger together with PV and storage, because the system can then actively raise self-consumption.
How much will my bills actually fall?
That depends on the starting point, which is why we do not publish a single figure. The largest effect comes from raising self-consumption, because energy used on site is worth the full purchase price while exported energy is worth much less. We size the specific potential during the energy audit, on your invoices and your load profile.
Can I see the data on my phone?
Yes. Generation, consumption, battery state and current savings are available in an application on your phone and computer, both live and historically. The system also reports drops in output and faults.
How do the Detect, Analyze and Optimize levels differ?
Detect is monitoring: you see what is happening with your energy. Analyze adds analysis of invoices and the load profile with specific recommendations. Optimize is full automation: the system controls appliances, storage and charging on its own, based on energy prices and solar output.
Does the system work with battery storage and a heat pump?
Yes, and that is where it works best. The system decides when to charge the battery, when to heat water or the building and when to charge the car, so that you use as much of your own and of the cheaper energy as possible.
Will I get reports for ESG purposes?
Yes. For companies we prepare reports on energy consumption, cost and CO₂ reduction, useful in ESG disclosure and in communication with partners. The same data supports decisions on further efficiency investment.
Where is the best place to start?
With an energy audit and monitoring. It is worth knowing the real consumption and the real losses before choosing automation and extending the system. Each subsequent step then has a return you can calculate, rather than being spend held in reserve.
